Well, after loading a 55k excavator, that actually weighs in at 58k, I am sat here in El Pisso waiting on new permits. Cant go into OK or AR over 40k on a tandem, so will be running the back way in, through NM, a little of Ok, then Ks and Mo. Thankfully Mo raised it's axle weights a while back
Here are a few pics of the securement for anyone wanting to know. Yeah it's over chained really (12 binders!), but it is right at the center of the track rollers on the edge of the trailer! Call me paranoid etc.....
I normally only haul Cat stuff, but this JD POS is about the same as any other really.
No doubt there may be things that folks would do differently etc, but this is the way I did this one.

Can you move it forward more to get some weight on the drives and steering?
Mo only allows 40k on a tandem also, unless they just changed it. -
I am over 38k on the drives, just under 12k on the steers. That isnt the problem, the issue is that I'm grossing over 93k on 5 axles!
My permit gal said no problem going 43k on the trailer, 39 on drives, and 12 on steers for the states I will be going through. I could of course undo all the chains and move it back a foot or two, but why bother if it can be permitted as it sits? Can also move the kingpin, but wont bother with that neither unless there is an issue in Mo. I asked the rental place what is the Cat model thats the same size, and he said a 320DL. Thus I put it 85" from the front deck to the tracks. Loaded in on a sloped driveway, so gauges were not doing me much good, and the only other place to gauge it was on the road I had to back in from. Gotta love these places that want to buy and sell stuff, but have no room for a semi huh?
Here are the new weight limits for OSOW in Mo:
Legal Gross Weight is 80,000 lbs. unless specialized equipment. Refer to pages 33 - 35
of the Oversize and Overweight Regulation Handbook for specialized equipment legal
and permittable weights. Maximum permitted weight is 20,000 lbs on a single axle,
46,000 lbs on a tandem axle group, 60,000 lbs on a triple axle group and 72,000 lbs on
a quadrum axle group -
You need a flip axle for that wagon if your gonna be hauling heavy more often I guess.
-
They keep asking me to pull one of their brand new 3 axles, but I don't want to kill my little Freightliner! I used to pull a 3+3+3 with a 4 axle W9, but got out of it due to the headaches etc.
My empty weight is only 35k, so I still haul quite a bit 6 axle stuff anyways....

Trust me you'll be fine, unless you have a newer one, like a century or columbia....

Should be useing a trailer with out riggers for a load that wide. Anything that sits on the spocket or less should have them.
