So I rolled into a TA to clean my windows and mirrors before sundown. And after that I pull up off the fuel island to go inside for a snack. Haven't been to the TA in Dexter, MI in a while. So I didnt know the restaurant had closed. So I walk on down to the Louisiana chicken place. And as I look at the menu, THEY REALLY TRIED TO ROB ME!!! I snapped a pic of the robbers face before I ran out. BUT WOW I CANT BELIEVE THEY ARE TRYING TO ROB TRUCKERS LIKE THIS!!!
Popeyes is the most absurdly priced fast food restaurant I can think of in truck stops. And their idea of Cajun is disrespectful to the many years of mosquito bites invested into Louisiana.
I ordered the 4 piece combo probably a year ago and was pushing 20 bucks and the chicken was smaller than usual... as much as I like fried chicken, I haven't given them my money since... I went to raising canes about a month ago since we got one by the yard and i likenit better then popeyes and it's over 18 dollars for chicken tenders and drink... #### sake, I could have a steak dinner and wine at the house for these prices
I am here just to brag about food my wife is preparing tonight for me to take on the road tomorrow morning
My wife does the same. It’s nice to eat like home on the road. Main meals in fridge or freezer. Then I supplement with canned veggies. I can go weeks with the food from home. Saves money and tastes alright.
Those chicken prices are crazy. An what are they giving you in the combo that it's 18-20 bucks? Better be a big ### side of fries and taters, etc. I mean bucket size. Personally I'd just cook my own stuff on the road, or bring stuff with me like Short Fuse and Dune-T. It wouldn't be as healthy but...it'd be cheaper than eating out. Also, that salad looks good. The one in the middle. Sirscrapntruckalot -
Looks great . No wife here but I do cook on the road and at home.. only way to go these days especially if you want to live past the age of 35 , with the unhealthy crap they serve at the truck stops
I bet their portions have been reduced in size as well. This practice has become SOP for companies in the USSA. Sell less product for more money. People are still playing the game though. Until they stop paying this trend will continue.
