I think you are talking about the FASS system. I would like to find out more about them as well. I talked to a guy a couple of years ago that has one on a B model Cat. He claimed it ran better and also upped his fuel mileage. I have a 475 3406E 1LW series and was wondering if it would help me out any. I just had to replace the relief valve cartridge on my fuel filter housing. It had the old style and the plunger was stuck open because it was worn and getting stuck in the bore. I was told this made my fuel pressure lower than it should be. I think it helped a little bit but I still don't think it runs like it should. My other truck with a 3406B 425 will out pull this one hands down. The E model is better on fuel though.

i used engine maxx on my mxs acert. it gave me what i was looking for and was easy. i used FASS 10 yrs ago when it was called fuel preporator. did not do well for me but its changed alot since Brad E first built them. the fass will up fuel psi because its pumping fuel towards the transfer pump ( 10 psi i think ) not enough imo. EMAXX will up psi about 30 psi and has new press relief that ups gph thru system 30 gph to about 125 gph. it worked well for me i think because i run Davco 382 which flows 180 gph. spin on filter heads flow 120 gph. bonus, i didnt have to run return lines to tanks like FASS needs.. both devices have there place, it depends on your long term plan. how much HP do you want ?. make enough power and youll probably need a FASS eventually. if your looking for easy mods , the EMAXX is easy. not cheap at 550.00.

Read the thread here on acerts. this applies to your 6nz also. fuel filters , exhaust etc.

My 1LW 550hp 3406E would walk all over the 625s too, i see them doing around 510whp which is kinda weak IMO. The 3406E had trim codes and that was it.

Enginemaxx comes with new spring for trans pump and new press relief assembly(spring, new cover with larger orafice and checkball ) im told keep press under 120 or youll push inj O rings out. my MXS is at 118 psi.. # 1600. 140 k mi no problems.

FASS is used like F/W sep . i think they come with fleetguards. Cat secondary is still used.

The Engine MAXX thing is just a bigger spring for the transfer pump and a bigger spring in a new fuel return valve..is that correct? Thier web page doesn't give much info.
If that is the case you can get exactly the same result by simply stretching the spring in the transfer pump, costs you nothing. You can get 110psi by doing this and you dont really need any more than that.
