Yeah.. normally I'm all over them , too but unless it's an extreme delay most people have zero reason to gripe about late deliveries over the Holidays. If you order it on the 18th... you're rolling the bones that it's gonna make it on time.
Now , a couple months back , I dropped my keys at the back of my trailer in Salt Lake and the shipper found them and tracked me through my Lowe's card on the ring (above and beyond !!)
They stuck them in a small padded envelope THAT DAY and it took NINE DAYS for them to arrive in NC.
I told the guy , "I know you're just the final mile guy , but I could've walked to Salt Lake by now". That was crazy.
We give FedWrex a lot of grief, but they are people just like us. Working today to finish the job as best they can because of things largely outside their control is great customer service.
Sadly, they're gonna be met with a LOT of snot slinging at the doors when they do save the day , and THAT poor guy is just the final messenger with NOTHING to do with the delay.

I think you're right. Still can't help but feel sorry for the guys that are working today, unless they wanted to.HalpinUout Thanks this.

Looks like all that laying in the ditch is catching up to them.. You get what you pay for.. I'm assuming most of these delays are fedex Ground and yes, there is a difference between the fedex companies. Lousy pay = lousy service.
bottomdumpin Thanks this. -
Ordering on the 8th , one thought would allow ample time? Knowing how there system works 2nd day or next day should be possible. When I was working with Airborne , it would have been next day , and never saw a plane . And somethings you can not just go to a store and buy.

Fed Ex could destroy an anvil with the way they handle packages.
I won't do business with a company that ships only by them.
I always choose UPS, much better service, and my merchandise arrives undamaged. -
When I lived in Iowa, my mom flew up to visit. I picked her up at the Des Moines Airport. Her flight got in around 6pm. Her luggage didn't arrive but a bunch for St. Louis did. She changed planes in Dallas. Turns out American Airlines goofed and put half the luggage from the Dallas-St. Louis flight on the Dallas-Des Moines flight and vice versa. We filled out the necessary information at the lost luggage department and drove to my aunts house in Jefferson. Luckily mom and my cousin were roughly the same size so mom got some pajamas to borrow.
About 5am, the doorbell rings. It was the luggage people. They told us that everyone on that flight with lost luggage had spread to all 4 corners of the state. The luggage had been delivered around 10pm and they'd been running ever since.
We offered them some coffee but they declined and thanked us. Who knows how long it took them before they were finally done.bottomdumpin, jammer910Z and Big Don Thank this. -
People need to get a grip on reality. So you order something for someone for Christmas, or any other time, and it doesn't arrive on what you think should be a timely manner. SO WHAT?
Tell the person their gift was delayed. Live with it.
People feel so entitled to have everything their own way. Well bucko, the REAL WORLD just does NOT work that way. Despite the best efforts of certain groups to make us think it should.bottomdumpin, P. Adam, drvrtech77 and 1 other person Thank this. -
It's sad that "Its About Me" seem to be the theme nowadaysG13Tomcat and drvrtech77 Thank this.
