Just out of curiosity, im relatively new when it comes to how trucks act in the very cold weather.
Do these newer trucks tend to get a lot of electrical issues when dealing with the freezing cold ice and snow? Such as sensors repeatedly showing faults and similar issues?
Any insight would be useful from someone who has dealt with below freezing conditions.
Cheers

I have never know this to be the case but you might get a better answer if you post what the problem is because there may be others who have experienced the same thing.
I think its natural to think this because freezing temps also assume water contact but even then direct water wouldn't necessarily cause an electrical issue.
What's going on? -
Just pull up those codes on dash and google them, sometimes easy fix sometimes it might be a gremlin.feldsforever Thanks this. -
Well, that's the thing, I keep getting random fault codes, for example, the MIL comes on followed by ABS, stability controls, temperature sensors on the axles, and the coolant warning lights turning on and off.
I check everything I can on the truck to see if anything is loose or broken or corroded. Seems like whenever the temperature gets below 20 degrees, my dash gets festive on me. -
The low coolant sensor was a easy fix $15 for the sensor and replace , you can do it with out removing the coolant but you need to be quick .
Currently running with a Def line heater fault , fortunately didn't send me into shutdown. I'll fix this week hopefully. -
Well, I fixed the issue, turns out the coolant sensor and some other sensors around the truck just corroded due to all the salt. Fixed the coolant one myself and the others were covered under warranty. Thanks for the help guys
danny23tx Thanks this.
