Not much but i finally scrounged up enough money to put aside for the knowledge permit test. Cost $75 here in PA. Doesn't sound like a lot of money but i'm unemployed i do handyman/electrical work on the side and the jobs don't come in consistently and when i do get jobs it's playing catchup with bills. I really need the $75 but i said f it this time and pushed a bill back because if i don't do this now ill always be playing catchup.
So now i need to make some dough for food money etc. to hold me over when i go out to company trucking school.
Baby steps but i'll get there. Planning on before christmas to take the permit test at the dmv. I saw a post from Floyd Mayweather posting a picture of his 100 million dollar check and knowing i have double zeros in my checking account that really gave me the motivation as funny as it sounds. Tired of being broke and I'm so hyped to get this trucking started. At the same time i'm scared as f that it won't work but I will give it my all.
Finally getting the ball rolling

That's great, man. Fear is a great motivator, and with your attitude you'll go far.

This website & Trucker Country have all the questions you can be asked for the various license & endorsements. It costs nothing to take practice tests as many times as you need. Don't get hung up questioning the answers or trying to learn everything just by these tests. Give the answer they want and move on. Read the question and ONLY THE CORRECT ANSWER. It's not a thinking contest, it is a multiple-choice test with ONE correct answer.x1Heavy Thanks this.

Good luck on that permit test. Judging from your posts over the past months, it appears to have been a long journey for you. Good for you for not giving up. If I recall, you were looking at roehl as a starter company? I think they are paying during training now, not sure how that works but that should help you out. I hope it all works out for you.
1278PA Thanks this. -
This nearly got me on the hazmat endorsement test. The dot changed the regulations for bols to match the un standard this year. None of the information required is different: it's just in a different order in the line item now. I answered how I would see the bols irl rather than how the test was set up, and missed three questions because of it.
It reminds me of twice weekly trips to the plasma center to collect enough cash to eat on while I was in cdl school. Where there is a will, there will always be a way. -
Wow i think i would sell my tools before doing that. I have a couple grand i would say in tools but some of them i had since i first started in the trades over 20 years ago. They have sentimental value to me. But there has been more then a few times where i thought f it sell them i could always buy new tools later. It's just tough my tools are my babies laugh all you want lolx1Heavy, Lepton1 and DustMyBroom Thank this.

It wasn't bad. You lie there squeezing a ball for 45 minutes while watching a Disney movie. Collect your money and a Powerade on the way out, and grab some essentials at the dollar store on the walk back to your room. You got $45 for the first donation, and $75 for the second. Both donations had to be given in the same week, because it required two donations to make one treatment and the first donation can spoil.
