I will say this if you want to call DOT on your company, talk with some since and inform the officer on whats going on. If they continue to get calls about the said company they will investigate. It has to happen a lot for them to put time in on it.

Took a firm stand years ago on this subject. Responsibility = "If I am responsible then I'm gonna do it my way! I will be there when I can get there legally, you don't like it find somebody else". Not joking here, I made it plain to every dispatcher I ever had, I'll get it there, but it will be done my way and if the receiver don't like it you deal with it. One thing everyone better remember: It's your CDL! it's not the companies, the dispatchers, the receivers, the shippers or anyone else's. IT'S YOURS! Protect it period. These companies like to throw the word RESPONSIBLE around pretty freely. Like I said "if I'm responsible then it will be there when I get it there! Never had a problem with a receiver in the years I drove because I kept everyone informed including them. This old crap of the driver not calling the receiver is exactly that CRAP! That's where the word RESPONSIBLE come in. Keep that receiver informed and they will take it when you get it there or they will reschedule it so you can get it there. NOBODY wants their product in ditch or damaged. JMO

What would the company say if asked their side of this ?
    Your refusal history ?
Your skill at time management and correctly logging such time?(no such thing as legal, dont go there)

Granted there are exceptions to both sides but to assume all drivers are "no fault" :biggrin_25523:

    THIS IS " T R U C K I N G "
Nothing will ever change the founding concepts, all you legal eagles and compliance relgious fanatics can just hold your tongues because it falls on deaf ears when it comes to those "that can" and "will continue to" in this business.

There are going to be times when you must "step-up"
those that "can-do" are the ones that will be here 10 yrs from now writing their own ticket.

I know its hard for the couch potato's to find on their remote controls but that be the Gospel!
