The log book is a hos of service record , the ELD is a monitoring device , now that your comfortable being monitored they will add more invasive monitoring , you really don't think it will stop with a ELD , wake of drivers your rights are going up in smoke

Rates are up ! Seems like ELDs are having a good effect. All them drivers that like to haul that cheap freight and run 90 hours a week have to stop. We will see how things go after the new year.

We all want to make more money , how much of the rate increase is because of ELD mandate ? How much is just freight volume ? And will the rates hold ?
One thing is for sure ELDs are here to stay and this encroachment of monitoring will not end with ELDs -
Did you drivers forget you give up some of your rights when you got a CDL ? You already had HOS and now your just mad you can't drive all hours you want. It's the same laws as paper logs. Now you can't cheat.

We will see after the New Year how rates hold up. Since they always used to drop. So far thing are better this year then a year ago as far as rates

I have to embrace big brother or I'm an outlaw? , you mega fleet/government programmed drivers are why this industry is so effed up .
When the next and the next step comes out will you still feel the same or will you say , where were you when they put monitoring devices in our trucks , if you can't see this is an invasion of our rights and privacy , it's hopeless trying to convince you ELDs are a step down that roadwore out, HopeOverMope, Oxbow and 1 other person Thank this. -
As technology changes so does trucking. Your probably right and they will pass another law trying to make things safer. Everyone has the right to say no I'm not driving anymore because they think it's going to far.
Maybe the ELDs will force them to change the HOS so drivers have for flexibility. They are taking comment on more split sleeper rules right now. I heard out of 3 million driver about 500 made a comment to the FMCSA.
I think running legal is good. I'm not sure have more driving hour is the answer. Why don't we just force them to pay more ? Pay more per mile and pay detention pay.
Why do driver want to work more hour for less pay ? Or sit for free all day waiting to get loaded and unloaded. My time has value and it's not unlimited. I'm not on call 24/7 for free. They can pay me 70 hours to drive the truck or I can sit at the dock for 70 hours.Moving Forward Thanks this. -
You've convinced me , I now love every circuit in my precious ELD , and can't wait for cameras looking forward , backward and sideways , bring it on , 65 speed limit heck no I think 55 will be safer and so much less efficient , just think of the rates then , we will all be RICH ,
