I've read all the posts a few have tried to explain but failed thet all just keep using one of the definitions of encouragement like liberty but can't explain how or what liberty's are being encroached on but at least they tried.
The one person that threw out this ELD is an encroaching law has not even offered up an opinion or explanation. And the reason is clear , they heard another or a few drivers say it was and blindly jumped on the bandwagon. Its not uncommon though a lot of drivers do this.

lol! anyone else think that wasn't a good explanation i gave, even if you don't particularly agree?

he doesn't want an explanation. he wants someone to argue a point to him he doesn't want to see or agree with.

about that paper log tracking.....your answer is lacking.

notice how vague he allows his own answers to be......but how demanding he is of others answers.....like a troll....that hides behind his disabled online indicator.....that he had to turn off....yet acts like he has no idea what it is.....

post 215 and 216,whether you like them or not, answers that statement.

of course now its your turn. tell us how my paper log manually tracks me. we already know you said it does. but how? it's an inanimate object last i looked with no outside influence or input.

seriously...are you even a driver? c'mon now. you just look silly after that last post.

You have not once stated or given any opinion on what is being encroached on and how it is.

Look I get it, you got called out on a statement that you can't explain.
At least I offered up an explanation for the log book and others have tried and offered up opinions on the encroachment issue.
You still haven't and can't and that's why you keep trying to throw out other stuff to change the subject.

ELD seems to use a limited number of established reference points, with distances and directions from those points, like the Brooklyn Wholesale Meat Market being 2.6 miles west Southwest from a location called Brooklyn New York. Location of change of duty status needed to be marked in the remarks, and thats all I'm doing yet with the ELD, don't give them anymore information to hang you with than required.

Fuel had to be within half an hour using the Comdata or EFS from as far back as I go with this, 2004.

We had a few fuel account places that gave a break with that, then it was day of, usually, but haven't done any of that since 2005. No way to lose more than a short trip when accounting for fuel purchased when?

Cell phone, sim card can be tracked with the phone off, and smart phones all have sim cards, CDMA voice and limited data can be disabled by pulling the battery, as far as I know, and prepaid phones were harder to track, anyway.

The company no longer wanted to see the bill, since location data on those could be misleading, South Bend is not Ft. Wayne, no matter what the bill says.

If the hard 14 went away, giving flexibilty, there would be no reason for most to want to fudge more than minutes here and there(like that half an hour tolerance for fueling).

And pushing it to get somewhere without a violation will happen more. But since violations will be logged, at least we aren't cheating anymore.

But about that dummy running below 5 mph in The Circle in Chicago, who was he, she, or it fooling?

One thing you are correct about. There are exemptions and I take full advantage of them.
