I lived in Carolina when I was leased to CF Arrowhead and I worked out of the Detroit office best I can remember they had an office out of a 76 truck stop south of Detroit ran a lot of automotive. There was a company can’t remember the name in Spartanburg SC that made the carpets for Ford I did a lot but did run all over.

I like this thread.
Post more old stuff.
Some places would love that paperwork for collector purposes...like museums an the like. Especially nicely preserved. You likely won;t want to part with it, but if nobody to pass on to, it's a neat option. Good way to have your history live on forever.
Anyhow...again..cool thread. I like these old, history filled threads.
Sirscrapntruckalot - History...is pretty cool.TallJoe, Slowpoke KW, DougA and 3 others Thank this. -
My quote and reply did not come out properly when I quoted DougA....Beautiful truck DougA. International also had some of the nicest paint schemes back in the day also.
I would take that over any new truck today.Slowpoke KW and DougA Thank this. -
Two tones of tan, brown, orange, and white pinstriping, all factory paint job,no decals or stickers. Was nice back then when the truck manufacturers took time to paint trucks multi color like that, instead of all the one color stuff nowadays.
Had that truck for a while, and the length laws started to relax, stretched it out to 235" wb from 200",put New-way 4 bag air-ride,and a set of SQHD 4.11's under it. Wish I would have kept that one.
Don't have a lot of pics of it,but here's one in my driveway, stopped by on the way thru from out west. Tarped piece on the back is a stator out of GE in Tucson, going to GE Albany,NY,and crates of railroad parts, going to Eastern Canada. Funny,I can remember useless crap from 30-40 years ago,but can't remember what I had for dinner last nite,lol......enough rambling.

Nice, thanks for the pics DougA. I'm an international guy too. Ran a couple S-Lines, a 9300, 9400, a couple 9900i's and Paystar's. I always wanted a Transtar cabover or 4300 conventional but never got the opportunity.
I don't think you went wrong with an NTC over the KT. KT is cool for sure, but expensive and heavy. You can get big power from an NTC too. I had an NTC400 Big Cam with big injectors, #8 button and 235 pounds of rail pressure and it flew.
Another cool thing about International besides having the nicest paint jobs back then....the first sink and running water in a factory sleeper that I ever saw.Gearjammin' Penguin, TallJoe, kemosabi49 and 4 others Thank this. -
Yeah,I couldn't stay away from them. This was my 1995 9300 Eagle,Cummins N-14,500,15 spd. Owned it for 20 years before I retired and sold it.Best truck of all the ones I owned, just a dam good running,no problem truck. Roomy sleeper, but I like the 4300 big sleeper better, mainly because of the door, and windows. Just liked to sleep with a fresh air breeze going through when I could.

I remember those. I still have all the brochures and the magazine International used to send out that had the announcement of those when they first came out.....Viper red with those cool looking hole style in the rims. Mine was older than that one. I can't remember the year now, but it had a 3406B 425 Cat, 15 over, and a Mik-Mak 60 inch high rise bunk. Had Hendickson RT and spokes on the rear. Pulled float and dump trailer with it.

US20,Gary was just going balls to the wall,24 hours a day,365 days a year. Every business along there catered to truckers. Steak houses, bars, fuel stops, strip clubs, trucks everywhere, and 95% were flats, covered wagons. It was a great time to be trucking.whoopNride, Ruthless and Slowpoke KW Thank this.
