Thats what my employer did. Still does nothing for the out-of-service time. These T680’s have been so bad we’re shuffling trucks between 3 locations, trying to keep the broke down drivers in a tractor. Drivers are having to catch rides from those who are headed their direction. I would never buy a PACCAR anything.
Ha Ha I feel like an idiot for not seeing that. I was pretty tired yesterday and not thinking. Looked at the post a second ago and went yeah of course it is miles. lol. Still that is pretty good set up in this market.
It makes a bigger difference when the weather is nice and wind is a big issue. It does help but harder to measure unless running same route with same weights.
That seems to be a very bad product from what you have seen. I will not run anything at this point but a Volvo engine. Do you guys happen to run anything for fuel additive treatments to help keep emissions clean? What have been the main issues for break downs? What is the RAR set ups in your company trucks?
Well I bought this a couple days ago and put it on the truck yesterday when I got back. https://www.4statetrucks.com/toolbo...een-frame-tool-box-22in-x-9in-x-24in_6268.asp Will help get some of the stuff I have collected out of the cad. I still need to get my trailer tool boxes but waiting on that. That last place quoted too much to do the install. I was looking at the trailer yesterday and may try something else on it. Could maybe cut the skirt off at the back and add the toolboxes at that locating and try and fabricate a way to make it keep the Aero and could do it myself for a lot cheaper. Might use that shop area in my parking spot to knock it out.
I’d say it’s a variety of things. Mine has started the injector thing, so many other MX13’s are experiencing. It was just in the shop for a second replacement A/C hose. The first two literally fell apart, like some Chinese hose rubber. The coolant manifold under the passenger floor is leaking, now. I still have the random CEL’s. The transmission hasn’t acted up, since they did the update, a couple weeks ago. But, the shifting is more erratic, clutch takeup is more aggressive (slam those docks), instead of dropping one gear while slowing it’ll jump 3 and rev to the moon. It’s like going back to what these drivetrains were, 4-5 years ago. Terrible. 170K miles. Mine has a 2.72. ~1200rpm at 67mph. ~1070rpm at 58mph. It’s lugging, so I downshift for most overpasses, hills, etc. Pennray is the additive they’re giving to all the 2nd Gen drivers. Mine’s a 1st Gen and I’m based out of a remote location, so I don’t have the same shop support. However, they’ve hired a new tech at our place and this dude is at another level and ruffling feathers up at HQ. He’s been calling them out for all the crap he sees them doing wrong, holding people accountable (including his supervisors), making ownership aware of stuff, etc. It’ll be for the better (company) or worse (him). The reality is he doesn’t need them as much as they need him. Dude owns five trucks hauling builder chassis, has a road service business, and doing this. A lot of varied experience. I’m glad he’s there, because he gives me more confidence in the equipment. I’m hoping he’ll be able to stay on top of my truck, as things progress. I like those frame boxes. A nice use of wasted space.
Wow that is an array of crazy stuff going on. I can understand some stuff as no truck Is gonna be perfect. Those RPM range at least seem to be in a good spot for those engines but the programming on the trans seems to be way off. You should have them go in and see what is going on. Someone has done something wrong for it to do that I believe. I love that the new guy is doing his thing. People need to be held accountable since everyone seems to be just enjoying full pay for half ### work. Hopefully he can make something change for you. I would think someone on the ups would really listen if he is making them all question what is going on.
