My husband and I are looking ahead to when our lease will be up with the company we are at now... we were thinking of checking out FAF, but I haven't been able to find any information about them on here... are there any drivers here that have any current info on them??

Bumping this thread... Hoping for some info...
<hearing crickets> -
see them running. Have a friend that had to sit due to preventables that is now a dispatcher for them out of Columbus. Have you hit thier website? Maybe tried to grab a driver at a truck stop?
What are you looking to find out? I'll ask my friend his impressions? -
We see them out there as well, and we live about one mile from one of their distribution points... So thought they would deserve a look. We have glanced at their web site, but wanted personal opinions. Which I know, everyone has a different point of view, even if they had the same thing happen to them, but impressions are what I'm looking for right now. Figure a lot can change in a year's time, and that's how long we have on our lease.
Guess I'll need to screw up my nerve and ask any drivers from FAF I see at truck stops what they think of the company too... -
I know a guy that has two trucks on with them, one does a dedicated fl-nj-fl the other runs open board, he does well enough to have considered a 3rd but with fuel and economy so uncertain he has held off so far. I know the deidcated is home every week unless they want to pull a weekend run too, and of course of there is one available. Orl, dal, col, atl and a few others are the big areas to live in and should keep you busy. I'm not sure what it pays but it's per mile and depends on which fleet you choose. I'd call, they really don't gain anything bringing you on to have you leave so I would guess their pretty up front. It is air freight/expedited ltl so it will depend on freight trends of course, but then again, so does everything else in TRUCKING!!! Good luck.

I called them and asked them about home time and she told me 3 weeks out and no I cant be home every week, made it easy to cross them off my list.

Mmmm... We were thinking runs out of Sacramento... Either short back and forth ones or one long out and back... Not doing the three week out for only one to two days home... Looking for 'home' time and a terminal close to home... Yah I know, everyone would like that.. LOL!
Do the drivers choose their runs from a load board, or are they dispatched and have to take the loads given? Are the runs consistent? Such as always from point A to point B, or do they change around? Are there 'guaranteed' runs... Ones that always run? Are the drivers treated like people or numbers? How is the communication between the office and the drivers?
That's the type of questions I have right now... The finance questions will come later, but those we would ask them -
I know the open board guys get in every 2-3 weeks but that was agreed upon b4 hire and also to maximize earning potentail. The other truck had been on a dedicaed for quite some time but I'm not sure how often or when the dedicated runs become available. I hear they are offered but not sure to whom and why if you get my drift....
I would guess all terminals are different too but if my buddy's right it's a first in and out with choice of direction and future needs of the company taken into consideration.Lady K Thanks this. -
