Hi Friends,
I'm hearing that Freight rates are dropping and this indicates economy slowing.
Thanks for your input...
- -Is there a Forum Board, or website that show National Freight Rates?
- -ALSO, have you noticed Freight Rates dropping?

I know jack #### about this topic but I'll bet the house the vets will say it's drivers taking cheap loads and that the system is oversaturated with new drivers. Honestly just a hunch though.
Western flyer and snowwy Thank this. -
Don't believe anything you hear. With the exception of the truckstop lunch counter. This is the only place I know of that nothing is said that is not true.
D.Tibbitt, Dave_in_AZ and bryan21384 Thank this. -
You are asking about the price of freight. That is determined by the supply and demand.
Demand for freight (freight volume) is pretty steady. Supply (trucks available) is high. Price is going down.
Economy is fine. -
From what ive seen on a free load board maybe not too accurate but it gives me a idea. There are 1.00 a mile runs that weight 48000 and there are 2.50 a mile runs that weigh 40000 you just gotta look and plan and when you find that great paying load check for a back haul.

Don't know,don't care.
Im just a loser company driver.
Been out 6 weeks, most money I ever made in
That span.
It's all I can handle and they keep giving me more.
I do notice there's more parking at the truck
Stops though.D.Tibbitt and bryan21384 Thank this. -
Yes rates are down . Some lanes affected more than others . Some big companies have gone out of business but it still doable. My last run I found some better than average rates and light freight . I pull a box , specialized freight is holding steady and last to be affected by a stagnant freight market.

On the lanes that I am running, rates are rising, not falling. Freight rates have little to nothing to do with the overall economy, they simply reflect the supply and demand for capacity in an area which rises and falls seasonally as well as randomly.
