Yeah I would agree. It has been pretty slow for this time of year. We run steps and double drops from MD, PA, DE to ON, QC.

Rates look to me like they tanked.. Supply and demand I guess... I have also noticed there is a lot of specialized equipment for sale much cheaper then last years prices.

Things have been slower for me as well. Still making it though. But a lot more fight than normal. In addition to what others have said I also keep track of the unemployment numbers which when adding the number of people on unemployment and those who have fallen off but still jobless plus those who picked up a part time job that takes them off and a few other factors the real world unemployment numbers have climbed higher than the past 10 years at a steady rate in the last 2 years. which means people cant buy goods....

On pay day last friday, i was talking to my boss and his wife about Politics. We are dumped with Containers left and right and making good money so he says the economy is improving everywhere, i told him no, Containers are loads coming overseas, i follow the business news like carrkol says and i read that the economy is going down, like Caterpillar profits falling, etc.. so the conversation came because fuel prices are falling, i to him that the news said, fuel is down because drivers are driving less compare to this time last year. So yes, people have less spending money, that means buying stuff and that means less freight for truckers. And folks, for those who know, those high tax increases have not yet hit, so imagine? less spending money by the public, means less freight in the future!
