I have a 2009 Freightliner Colombia. The issue I'm having is that the cab keeps losing power after I shut the truck down. The battery protection device kicks in and kills the power within an hour or less. It even does it when nothing is plugged in. The truck has new batteries and a new alternator. Any tips or advice would be much appreciated.

check voltage on battery protection device terminals, if it is really lower the limit - check voltage on battery terminals. if you get over 1 V difference - look for bad connection.

Check battery protection system grounding too.

step one is to load test each battery I know you say they are new but when a truck comes in to my shop I start with the basics. If the batteries load test ok. Check key off amp draw. If there is an excessive load with the key off start isolating each circuit to find your load.
