Just moved in to a company 2013 freightliner cascadia. Found a problem in truck that a company mechanic had mentioned about another freightliner. Shift lever moving up a few inches. Actually it was up and to the right a good 3 or more inches. We found the problem within minutes. Missing 2 motor mount bolts. 3 different mechanics all agreed that it looks as though bolts were never installed. Also called up the company and found that the freightliner with this problem was our freightliner. Apparently it had been through the company's mechanics and fontana freightliner multiple times and problem was supposed to be resolved. This is just absurd and extreme incompetence by all parties from the start. When the problem was told to any mechanic by the driver the motor mounts should have been one of the first things verified by even the dumbest of mechanics. We called Kansas City, Mo freightliner with the part #s we needed. Was told they had 50+. We got here and they had none. Waited on overnight. Parts arrived at 10a this morning. It is now 3p and we are waiting on someone certified enough to install them. Apparently it takes a genius to install two bolts. Been watching trucks pull in, get serviced and leave all day...but not us. If I ever do purchase my own truck it sure as #### won't be a freightliner. The incompetence by all employees is just amazing. You would think that a problem of this magnitude would be fixed instantly. Its a problem that could have really caused a bad accident or much much worse.

It should be noted that this truck was made in Mexico.

Haha I know. I'm horrible. People aren't allowed to have fun!...So now this Kansas city freightliner is not only intentionally making us wait because we apparently been too pushy but they called our company telling them we are too pushy...to get two bolts installed that they were supposed to have in stock already. Good job on customer service there lol. Casino time baby!

    hrrmm.

Dunno if this is something to be this upset about.
Pretty big screw up if it's true, but I can see it happening with...well...every company that makes trucks.
I really wish I could see the actual figures of how much Freightliner "saves" by having the their trucks assembled in diarrhea land.

I'm not too upset all in all. Just stressed I guess because I have been stuck not rolling which I was trying to avoid by calling ahead for parts and scheduling service. But as hard as I try I know down time is unavoidable. At the same time I realize that mistakes happened but if not caught by QC at the factory it should have been caught by the first mechanic. With the symptoms the truck had the only thing I could even think of it being is a broke motor mount. Never thought an unattached motor mount but same difference.

Tons of money, but none of those savings will be passed on to the purchaser.
I am willing to bet the purchase price went up since being built in Mexico -not down.
We have all been duped into believing we are getting savings from things getting being manufactured somewhere else.

Usually its not that the bolts are missing its that they are broke common problem on all new trucks now using a rubber mounting to motor to cut down on vibration allows for alot of movement the new motor mount that I am sure they will install will have one size bigger bolt in it to help prevent it from happening again

Nope. Bolts missing and never installed. Just got the two bolts put in and out rolling again. Hopefully for a good long month. Oh except our first stop we made out of the dealership. Apparently they forgot the hood latches. Love these guys

Wow, I would have guessed the truck was made in N. Carolina! When I ordered my glider, the dealer was keeping their fingers crossed it would come from Mexico and not N.C. There claim was if there was a problem with the build, it is usually one from N.C. And they might be right. Mine came from N.C. and the dealer had to spend extra days fixing stuff that the N.C. plant either didn't put on, or put on incorrectly before I could pick it up.
