Good to hear your initiative to leave a bad situation! From what I've read I suggest you look at residence outside of Dallas and just commute. 60-100 miles when you have to doesn't seem bad to me. Good luck!

Las Vegas, one of the worst cities for local driver jods.
No industry but gambling, and to far away from I-40.
15 to 17 bucks an our if your lucky enough to be there
At the exact time that they're hiring.
Tried it myself, the low pay, no overtime and the cost
To live there added up to living week to week.
    Moved back to Texas.

If you want local only find a medium size city
With big city wages but not the high cost of living.

    jet460 Thanks this.

Yeah, it's my home state, but jeez. There has to be something better. All my friends have left, and are glad they did. If not for the winters, I would have already moved to MT. I love it there...in the summer.

    Where in Cali you live?

Is the crime and cost of living really that bad?

In my area of Florida you can't buy anything for under 200 unless it is a chitho.

Rent is 1350 minimum more like 1600 for dumps.

Go north up by Tampa little more reasonable.

Median rent costs in the US is $1350 month.

    What you pay in Cali?

If you don't mind the cold, mn has lots of under 200k houses within 40 min of the twin Cities, plenty of tanks up here
