Frozen door locks

    Well, I called dispatch, calling it a snow day!!!!!...., now I've got time to hunt down a clutch.....(there goes my IFTA refund!)...

    In the future.. Put some tape, *i always keep tape* use gorilla tape for the best but duct tape works well also, but put a little tape over the keyhole on outside when going into those good ole wintry conditions, keeps moisture out and usually wont freeze up

    Hi Trckdrvr, if a clutch needs replacement, the door locks are the least of the problems.

    Call the local fire department and ask if you can borrow their jaws of life. Have that door open in a jiffy.

    If they sell gasoline antifreeze in the really small bottles I just poke a small hole in the tinfoil or cap if it doesn't have tinfoil ... Insert key partially in lock and spray away or methyl hydrate if available then I wipe or wash rest off painted surfaces

    So how does enough water get in a key hole to freeze and how do you put deicing fluid in the key hole with out air pressure ?
