I have been with Frozen Food Express, for almost 12 weeks. During that time I have been through hell. I went out with a trainer for 7 weeks instead of the usual 6 weeks, We were working with FEMA for Hurricane Sandy and the Nor'Easter. The Friday before last, I got my truck. It is a 4 year old truck that has all kinds of problems-yet it has only 230,000 miles. I am thinking it used to be a local delivery truck, or it had been sitting out in the yard for a long time. Since the time I had it, in two weeks, I have had it in the shop 4, yes 4 times. That is totally unacceptable. I drove for FFE for 8 months in 1997, and I only had the truck in the shop 1 one time. What the hell went wrong? I guess I really pissed someone off or it was just my luck, I haven't decided. The run I am on now I picked up in Cactus, Texas, heading for two stops in California. When I stopped to sleep last night, the headlights were not working right. I waited til this morning to do a proper pre-trip and noticed the drivers side headlight was out. I took it to the shop and they said there was no power going to that light. After a few hours, I was told I needed to go to the Freightliner Dealership in Flagstaff, AZ. I was hoping and Praying that the scales were closed because I was driving illegally. Only one headlight was operable. I got to the Ftl Dlrshp, and was told that it would be at least two hours before they could even take a look at the truck. Meanwhile, my dispatcher is thinking about taking the load away from me. Normally that would not be a big deal, but this load is my ticket to go back home. I am really low on my meds, and I am due home time, yet if they take this load away, then I will no be going home. If you are thinking about coming to FFE, my advise is DON'T!!!

As far as the Truck thing goes. That's just 'luck of the Draw'.

Calm down guy. You ran into a bad patch and hopefully it will work itself out. Hope you get home to get your meds and take a chill pill. Its trucking things are not going to always go our way. There's always tomorrow. Look up my friend.

FFE isn't making money putting a bad truck on the road. It's just one of those things that happens.

FFE is a pretty good company to cut your teeth with but once you get experience there are plenty of other good companies out there. When I worked there my problem was I didn't get along with my DM and that created several problems. The problem with your truck is just bad luck. I have seen brand new trucks sitting on the side of the road.

I'll take my chance with a new truck over one some yahoo beat up before I got in it any day. Got my truck brand new almost 2.5 years ago and have never been in the shop for anything other then PM service and 1 recall issue that took 4 hrs to fix. The last used truck I had to drive had air leaks, shorts, and battery issues and a taillight with bad wiring that no one would fix.
Bad luck? negatory, The company knew that truck was a POS when they put him in it. Unless FFE does not keep service record which I highly doubt.

so what exactly does FFE gain by knowingly putting a bad truck on the road and jeopardize failing loads and losing money? Please give me a detailed explanation

I always read that after you get experience, it's time to apply to a good company. I would like to know what company fits into your "good company" model?
