Hi,
i work for a mining company and lately we have been changing fuel filters more often than not.
The fuel filter light comes on just after refueling. we have picked sample at nozzle point and checked for water, the result showed no water. we have also checked for water in the storage facilities and that also has no water traces. Most of the fleets have repeated within the last 48hours. Is there possibility of the coolant/ water tank leaking into the fuel system?
or can it be as a result of condensation?

If that were the case you would also be adding coolant
-
Did you cut the filter open, you may have asphaltenes or algae depending on whether it slimy or gritty. Thy need to be treated differently.

Could be your supplier has recently changed sources. Could be dealing with ridiculous amounts of "bio fuel" or paraffin.
Have you recently changed fuel filter brand selection or stock? Could be a defective batch of filtersLandincoldfire and Lord J Thank this. -
Have the fuel inside the filter analyzed to see what's going on. Then go from there to figure out the problem. Maybe even check fuel pressure.

I had work done on my D13 and had a similiar issue. Turned out to be the sensor on the water fuel filter.

Water in your fuel, your truck will smoke like your turbo is going are your injector is going

No i did not. Infact i am no the field guy. i do the fuel supply and that raised concerns about the possibilities of the lights coming up. Bad fuel (water and particle counts) and the conditions the machines do work under.
We did sampling in-storage Tanks, at nozzle point and all that but the result was just too good. -
oh ok
That is well taken -
Could it possibly be bad fuel tank breathing system.
and also how the trucks are washed on the washing bays?
