fuel gauge problem

    i have a 2002 frieghtliner columbia s/t fuel gauge is not responding all the other guages works fine when you turn the ignition on they all recycle but the fuel gauge i bought a new sending unit a new gauge still no respond. is there any fuse just for the fuel gauge i notice i dont have fire at the sending unit can someone help me please:biggrin_25518:

    bad gauge motor. really all this gauges are digital. Sometimes motors fail with dust and the only way - use donor motor.

    Before I change sending unit I use service link software to see acyual values. You understand. Well, bad motor is volvo issie usually. Ok. look for bas dashboard on JY and change the stepper motor. If not - may be you got driver chip bad. It must be resoldered with hot air. it is for electronic technician deal

    what is a bad gauge motor if you referring to the gauge i replace it also and the sending unit the gauge stuck to full all the time and sometimes while driving it move away from full toward the half im not getting any current to the sending unit will that help now

    It is not so easy. Motor is soldered in board. It is 4 pin plastic motor with 0.4 mm axe, to disassemble panel is not easy, you can damage other motors removing gauge niddles. Look for someone who fix dashboards pf trucks and cars
