96 classic, 12.7 DD 60, ran out of diesel the other day, gauge said 3/4 full, checked drivers tank, 3/4 full, passenger tank empty. so it seems to be drawing from passenger tank and not returning to passenger tank. any ideas?
there is no line between thew tanks to level off, so i guess there must be a proprtioning valve. Had this same issue last year, unhooked lines blew them all out, everything worked great till now.

bad fuel lines, or maybe the proportioning valve on top of tranny?

Replace the fuel valve on trans. they go bad and must be replaced or next time you will have fuel leaking out of over full fuel tank.

9 times out 10 when one tank is empty and the other is full I find the tank that is full has a blockage in the suction side. Usually some form of trash.

Same thing will happen if one of the vents is plugged up.
