Does anyone know if they make a aftermarket fuel cap that will screw down on the fuel tank threads further than the OEM kenworth cap. I have stripped out the top threads and if I take the rubber seal out of the OEM cap it will screw down and tighten up. With the seal in the cap I can screw it down and it doesn't catch so it is always lose. Anyone have any ideas other than a new fuel tank or maybe someone can weld new threads on the old tank. Thanks

Hey that was my line:biggrin_25510: lol

Have you though about welding a new neck on the tank if nothing else?

:biggrin_25525:Leave the tank about half full and then you won't have to worry about the cap not catching the threads!!!:biggrin_25512:

^easiest thing to try first. Have yet to see an aftermarket cap with a longer shoulder..cutting a little off sounds simple, I'd wonder how you'd prevent dropping debris into the tank while doing it, as well as getting it perfectly even so you can catch the top threads... End up with a lot of little pieces of metal getting it just right I'd think.

I found a aftermarket set of locking caps that have a deeper thread. Problem solved. 60 some dollars instead of 800-1100.
