Full Lockers

    Just curious with the last post here talking about transmission retarders or brakes and full lockups, can full lockups be added to a truck with just one differential lock in a truck already? If it could be added how much would something like this cost to do and what would need to be done, how difficult would it be timewise, thanks for all replies.

    the normal diff locks in trucks loks in the frnt drive axle. under normal operation the rear axle drives not the front. when you lockin the front axle then both axles drive but only one side on each axle will drive... normally.
    That's the dif lock most common.
    My last job had an 04 freightlinr that was equiped with that normal diff lock plus it had a traction lock which would lock both wheels on the axle which is what a "locker" actually does. I have no idea what that option costs but it is available

    I think you would have to change the axle housings there is an actuator off the side of the punkin on the housing that is not there. and with that the axle shaft itself is splined about twice as far with the lockers. With 8 wheels driving you can go through about anything as long as you don't want to turn
