    That galvanizing makes it look like the painter forgot to paint half the trailer.

    They claim the galvanizing adds a “little” over 1,000 lbs to a 55 ton.......

    The coating also makes it dangerous to weld.

    the coating produces extremely poisonous deadly gasses if you weld on galvanized metal.

    could be the difference in a 7 axle load versus an 8 axle or worse

    between an 8 axle and a 9 axle

    It will make you sick breathing the fumes while welding, but I’ve never heard of anybody dying from it.
    I’ve had galvanizing poisoning, gives you flu like symptoms for a few hours, but then you are fine. You can weld it outside with a breeze or use a fume extractor and there is hardly any danger of poisoning.
