So if you a plain company driver (no leasing), when you get assigned a truck, are you allowed to take it home? Or just have to park it at the yard? I ask because say you put a tv in there, will you always come back to that truck? Just thought I'd ask

in general, a company driver is allowed to take the truck home as a company otr driver, unless you live within a certain number of miles from the nearest terminal. also important to ask is where will you be allowed to park it. some companies allow truck stop parking, while others require a more secure location. and most companies do not do "slip seating" (more than one driver using the truck as a solo driver). truck is assigned to you...you drive it til it wont run anymore or you quit UNLESS....
most companies have a maximum amount of time you can be on vacation/home time. important to ask how many days you can be out and not have to give up the truck. especially if you are like me and like to stay out for weeks at a time (like as many as 20) and take more extended home time when i get there.

More then likely you'll be able to take trk home. Then some prefer you leave trk attached to trl and park in a safe place with companies approval.I would ask your company before moving anything of value in your trk.

When we were company drivers, we would drop out empty trailer at a local truckstop (Johnsons Corner, Northern Colorado) put a kingpin lock on the trailer and take the tractor home. Parked it in our driveway. Johnsons Corner always said they would charge us $10 a day if they were full for storage but they never once did.
