That could give me some great options before I move to a spec'd rig.

Dovetail. Some call it a beaver, LoL..

This is the exact style trailer I waffled over for months. Sometimes I wish I had it, sometimes I don't.

The straight tail is better for loading when there is a dock, or some type of freight that requires all the deck space on the lower. Plus I used to drag the dovetail going in/out of driveways, or just getting to a jobsite in real hilly areas of the northeast. Slightly more versatile IMHO..

If you are doing lots of wheeled/tracked machines, that dovetail is hard to beat. Way faster than setting up the 460lb 6 piece ramp kit, & will save your back. If I got another, I'd have it built with either 4 flip over ramps, or the center flip over wide enough to make full deck width when closed. That way tricycle equipment is easy to load, & loading from the rear by way of forklift, or dock is possible..

I especially like these Doonan's, as the one I pictured still has Can locks built into the outer flip ramps. Pretty neat..

They are great (I have 2) but I don’t think I’d want them for general freight. They are very expensive and heavy, compared to a standard step.

I figured that would be an issue. If I wanted just heavy I'd be asking what rgn or whatever they are called would be best. But at this point I'm looking more at what trailer would be best for general flat ot step AND be able to do heavy or oversized ro sone degree. It may come about that I just need to stick with general flat till I can afford a more robust trailer just for heavy
