I sure don't want to be on the highway with a pot smoking truck driver. I'm all for randoms. What bothers me is their attitude, that being, that they think they can get high and handle a vehicle. Would you mind if the bus driver/airline pilot smoked a few joints before getting in the drivers seat with you on board? How about the heart surgeon doing your mom's surgery?

    AnotherFool Thanks this.

Nowhere did he say that he thought he could smoke and drive a vehicle. There is a good chance that your heart surgeon DID smoke on his days off, that doesn't make him incapable of performing surgery days later, even though he would fail a random test.

It's a long shot but you might contact a lawyer that specializes in the trucking industry. I've had customers with more serious problems get back on the road with the proper representation.

end of story. if you worked at a bank, and got busted for check fraud holding an account with another competing bank, you really think you shuold keep your job driving a truck? (seeings how holding a CDL, we drivers are held to higher standards.....meaning less ability to be stupid and get away with it scott free).

how bout getting a job at a tobacco shop....should be right up your alley.

what gets me, is that if i have to pass a random to earn the tax dollars for the state that spends them on jobless and those on welfare, should it not be required for THEM to take a drug test to get said paycheck?? i'm all for random testing. like a previous poster said, i dont want to be on the road with more pot smokers than there would be without the testing.

if you want to be stupid and do something that gets your license yanked, and are too stupid to make sure you dont get caught....then you're too stupid to be behind the wheel to begin with.
