Getting my cdl again with basically no experience

I'll be getting my CDL A on the 15th of this month. I just have to go do the DOT physical I originally received it back in 06-07 can't remember but only used it for a few months with a local Budweiser distributor.
So what would be some good company's to try to get on with for OTR I live in the Tampa, FL area I feel like I'm going to need to basically start over except I'll have my license already.

 

Are you acquiring your cdl through school?
Do you want a trucking company cdl school?

 

I'll have my cdl after I do my physical I got it back in 06 or 07 only used it for a couple months to deliver beer to gas stations so no otr experiance and no commercial driving since.
In florida once you have your cdl you dont have to retest to get it again. I'm scheduled at the dmv on the 15th of this month to upgrade

 

Abilene Motor Express might hire you. One of their trainers lives in Lake Wales.
CFI - www.cfidrive.com - hires lots of Florida drivers and has refresher course or school.

I'd put Abilene at the top of the list.
You can also check FFE (Frozen Food Express). They have cdl training and refresher plus two Florida terminals; Winterhaven & Miami. @TravR1 works there.

 

I'd put Abilene as first choice.
After that, in this order:
CFI
FFE (Frozen Food Express)
KLLM Transport
Stevens Transport
Note : KLLM owns FFE and they train at the same school in Mississippi.

 

Comcar has a division out of Apollo Beach FL. The orientation is in Savannah GA though for 10 days. It's a flatbed company. They hire drivers with no experience and start you off at $0.49/mile.

 

Just talked with CFI they want me to go through school again. Dont really like the thought of being on the hook for $3,500 if I dont complete a year with them when I already have my CDL would like some others people thoughts in this.

 

Any word from Abilene?
