Does anyone have any experience with Globe Trailers out of Florida? Specificly a hydraulic detatchable goose neck. How is the company to work with, and how do they hold up. I'm concerned about winter operation

    Matt,

I have recently purchased a 55ton Globe hyd detach. Been nothing but nice and taken my special customizations(well length, number of d-rings, etc) with no problem. Longevity? Aint know that til we get there. Now, I'm from south Texas I don't know about no winter op's. Sorry

Had a terrible, terrible experience with them. Bought a slightly used 2012 55 ton trailer early last year from them. Went straight to the factory to check it out. It looked good, healthy camber, nice looking trailer. Left a 50% deposit, came back for it in a week. When I came back, they swapped out the tags and derated the trailer. It was supposed to be a 55 ton with 110,000 capacity in 12 feet, the new tags they tried to give me said 100,000 pounds evenly distributed over 26ft. Apparently, prior to being sold to me, the trailer had a warranty claim from caterpillar because the trailer completely decambered with a 110k load. Trailer should have been scrapped or been sold for what it truly was, a failed trailer. I had no idea about this prior to the sale, all the paperwork said 2012 55 ton RGN, I saw the trailer in person and it had 110k in 12' tags on it. Also, the 10 year warranty they brag about? They told me it already had a claim so it didn't have a warranty anymore. They tried to make ammends by knocking $4k off the purchase price. I told them to give me my money back or I'd sue. Shady business if you ask me, too much computer design, not enough real world experience. Sales people began hanging up the phone on me when I tried to ask for an explanation about why they sold me a 55 ton and handed me a 50 ton.

Spend $5k more and get a Fontaine, Trail King, Talbert, Terex/Load King, Liddell, or any of the other reputable trailer brands and save yourself a potentially expensive headache. The trailers look nice, the powder coat is nice, the price is fairly low, but the build of the trailer as well as their customer service are not up to par.
