I've been back and fourth with switching to flatbed I really want to do a little more work than just driving. So here are my questions.
how many miles are you guys averaging?
ive been with Roehl 5 months what would my CPM for flatbed?
tarp pay?
i live in fl, any problem still taking my truck home?
I stay out 3-4 weeks anyways.
im just looking for more work and a bit more money.

I work at Melton and I know we have drivers from Florida that take the truck home. Great company to work for. I am not sure what the cpm will be for 5 months though I would guess around .35 to .37 cpm plus tarp pay.

I have been on the phone with melton asking questions, my hold up is leaving Roehl when they have been good to me and also have a flatbed division, so that's why I'm asking Roehl flat bed drivers

Im not flatbed, but I know theres a pay jump. Also pay for tarping/untarping. From sounds of it, my friend enjoys it.

Not even really about lease just even co drivers that can give me some info. Since I already work for Roehl do you think I'd just have to take a few day class on flatbed loads?

It's weekend in Gary. Then out with a local trainer for a few days. That's what I did anyway. But call on it. They don't seem to hire flatbedders from Florida much. You would need to call in about it.T_TRUCKER⢠Thanks this.

Yeah I was thinking about just calling a recruiter about it. If I have to go out with a trainer I may pass on it. Melton has a good sounding deal, but like I said Roehl has been good to me and I don't think I want to risk switching and getting stuck with a crappy FM or even worse.... Worse paychecks lol. That's a big reason why I'm thinking flatbed also because I've always worked very labor intisive jobs, so just driving all day and bumpin a dock door is gettin to my head a little

A local trainer. Not living in the truck on the road. You'd stay in a bunk room or the hotel, and go out each day. Or if you got a flatbed truck already just stay in that at Gary.
