Got the for sale signs up on the trucks and posted online. Brokers are moving trucks for $300 and $400 all day long. I can't wait to quit and pimp out driver's too.
Can't beat them, join them![]()

Seems the big money is in brokerage or lease purchase pimp. Not much money in being the worker bee. Probably make a lot more getting people to work for free.6wheeler Thanks this.

I'm going to give panhandling a try, those guys don't seem to be losing any weight.
Midwest Trucker and jt road hammer Thank this. -
It's definitely something I've been considering myself when I'm done driving too. After seeing a Broker was getting a load for 1600 the other day and having trucks move it for 1100 was a rude awakening no doubt. The more I thought about it, the more it began to irk me that this guy who had zero skin in the game was making exactly what I was making for almost none of the risk.Shadow3829 and Muddydog79 Thank this.

Just make sure you have some cash put aside, not all of them make it just like us out here, if you really want to make the money get your own account and run your trucks on it, you will make more than a slik Rick broker, when I own my own trucks 00 to 10 before the housing bust, I had 11 trucks on out of all my accounts I had none of them was on contract, I did a good job on they keep using me, today out of all the stores only one is a live today all the rest bankrupt, city furniture in tamarac FL, what I learned from them is to be death free, the owner don't believe in loans, look at rooms to go how fast they expand on loans, no city know they are expanding slowly death free is the key,Midwest Trucker and DSK333 Thank this.

I haven't looked into very closely enough yet but I was under the impression that was illegal for some reason.

Is it a sarcasm post, or are you for real?

Go to customer and haul direct. Get an amount between what the broker charges and you were paid. You make some more and customer is appeased cuz now he thinks the old broker was screwing him all this time. Over time you have steady good paying work without the ups and downs as much. It is actually fairly easy when you tell them exactly what you offer and have the equipment and it's all straight forward. Or you can have no asset to do the job yourself and just be another middle man. They are in competition with each other as well you know..

That's not as easy nor commonplace from my experience. Over the last 3 months I've contacted about 32 places and all of them either weren't accepting new Carriers due to having enough current capacity at hand or they only would deal with a minimum fleet size. All of which wanted contracts with associated minimum volumes. It's not as easy as you make it sound for a one or two truck company. I even had a couple places tell me they're using more rail than truck for 2019.TallJoe Thanks this.
