What would you like to know, specifically? I just left Roehl. They're a decent company. I'm just going after greener pastures now that I have a couple of years driving experience. If you can run your truck efficiently (no resets), you can get good miles with them. I averaged about 3k a week. That was as a solo. I got more as a driver trainer, but I didn't do that for too long as I didn't have the patience (or nerves) for it, lol. They are a double clutch company so they frown on floating. But again, not a bad company. The only things I really disliked were the slow trucks (63 without cruise, 61 with cruise on) and the fuel and routing plans. Roehl's routing program will send you through every 1 horse town with 10 lights and 25 mph zones in the tri county area if it saves 10 miles on the trip.
Pandemic Thanks this. -
A lot of mixed feelings, but I wouldn't work for them again. I also left for a much better OTR job. Towards the end times with Roehl I was only seeing 2000-2200 mile weeks and a little over 400 dollar paychecks. Fleet manager was very clueless to everything about trucks. Go onto the Roehl thread, there is plenty of info. The one good thing I can say, is that the training is good. Other than that I wouldn't recommend going to Roehl, granted you could do worse, but also a lot better.
good luck! -

I am fresh out of cdl school and I like their 14 on 7 off schedule. I figure being new to trucking that schedule would be easy on me at first.

Maybe, that's for you to decide. Just remember, you won't do that until you reach phase 3. You'll have to go through orientation and then go out with a trainer. The average time on a trainer's truck is 10 days. I'm not sure what the length of orientation is for someone fresh out of school.
-
managing to pay your bills on that schedule won't be easy

I was told 8 days for orientation and 8 to 10 days with trainer.

Only time will tell.

I was a driver trainer. I never had ANYONE get off my truck in 8 days. Not saying it doesn't happen, but none of my students did. Most were there for 10. But, even if you do get off in 8, you're still looking at at least 20 days realistically. You have to count the day you leave to go to orientation (fly or rental car or bus trip). Then, once you test out and get off your trainer's truck, you'll be waiting to get your own truck and then routed toward your house to get your stuff. Unless, you live by the terminal. Then, I suppose you can just go home...
