My first post :) been a lurker for a while.
So I became I owner operator a few months back, just a day cab nothing special but I work only night shift from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m.
That being said I've been in multiple trucks as a driver and besides the newer cascadia's with the LEDs most trucks have very poor visibility.
When I went shopping for a truck I couldn't afford a newer truck with LEDs so I grabbed a 2012 Freightliner Cascadia with a dd15 13 speed manual. The first thing I said to myself was I am going to buy some nice headlights that don't blind everyone when my first HST check comes in.

So it finally came in and I priced out the stock LED Freightliner headlights and they were over $1,000 (for one headlight!) plus tax plus programing...
So I shopped around finally found a website called trux, I found some really nice headlights but couldn't really find any reviews or pictures how bright they were.. they were still pretty expensive but I thought I would bite the bullet and try them out. And figured I would post my results on this website so other people can see.

Leaving my yard, look at the fence and the trees and notice the cutoff on the light nice and low, Won't blind anyone.

Picture of headlights on truck. That white light is actually only the daytime running light and it turns orange and blinks as a turn signal

Can you provide a link to the lights without violating the sites TOS?

Yeah I'm not sure how to really help. Try Googling "Freightliner Cascadia trux headlights"
The website will pop up on the first to second link

Restore your lens covers, replace your pitted windshield, don't drive at night ... but don't be "that guy" who blinds every other driver with aftermarket headlights, or mis aligned silverstars.

I got me some awesome rear facing offroad lights, and have some forward facing spots up in my mirrors to show "respect" to those which are inconsiderate enough to run lights that are more lumens than standard. An eye for an eye ....

You do know what projection lighting is don't you? It's a very straight beam of light and when aimed properly they provide the best light
    possible don't blind anyone.
Most newer vehicles use projection lighting even my 2012 Honda Odyssey has it.
Any car I pass on a major highway the light cuts right underneath their side mirror. On a commercial truck the light barely go above the tires.
Trust me I hate those guys that use off road LEd bars or LED or hids in a halogen housing. I did my research before making my purchase.

I bought a set of the trux brand drop-in sealed beams, and returned them 3 weeks later.

First problem with them: S5 noise on the CB radio when they're on.
Second problem: They filled with water the first time it rained.

    Good luck.

A couple things. the lights in the picture are not aimed right, the lighting is too cold and blinding to people in small cars.

There seems to be no pattern cutoff, there is a cut off on the top of the beam but then being misaimed, the lights extend too far out.

It isn't that the light cuts off below their mirror, it is the glare and light scatter that still happens and i bet if I get in front of you, I won't be able to see around you to make a safe lane change.

Hell I had this happen this morning on SB US-23 in Ann Arbor, a FedEx Freight truck like yours was behind me and I could not see a thing around me, my silhouette was appearing on the signs and I could read a book if I needed to with so much light, he had projection lights too.

@PeterN anything to do with lightning is a foolish endeavor on these forums. The mob will always stack up.

Do some price checking on the OEM LED units. I did that with my LED's on my Volvo. I picked them up for 360 per side and they can still cost 1k per at certain dealerships.

Some aftermarket light are just trash and wont hold up in the long run.

I have passed multiple FedEx drivers on our route to the service centre we switch our telse at and asked them if my headlights are blinding in any way and all said I was fine. I have gotten no Angry truck drivers on the CB, no flashes from trucks or cars.

I also ordered these at a Freightliner dealership and got them aimed there. So idk how they could aimed improperly.
