Re: Gordon trucking
After waiting three weeks to get on with Gordon I was refused. I have a spotless CDL and only one other driving job in the past year! A friend of mine does work for them saying they need drivers badly.

where do you live? If a Washington resident then that's why.
-
But aren't they out of Washington? What's the deal with that?

Gordon (GTI) is based in Washington. They were sued by a Washington driver over Washingtons overtime laws and lost the lawsuit.Last edited: Jun 21, 2011

I also have a spotless driving record, clean criminal background and have had 2 jobs in the past 18 yrs and was denied during the background check. What was most disappointing was that after talking with a recruiter and answering all of his questions they sent an email denying me. Couldn't even call in person. Tells a lot about a company.

What was it, in your background, that caused them to turn you down? I will say that they are thorough and particular about the background of their drivers. As far as the email is concerned, it has always been common practice for all reputable companies to notify declined applicants in writing. I guess they could have used snail mail. Just sayin. -
It was actually a driver trainee. The weekly stipend that they pay while out with a trainer does not meet Washington's minimum wage standards.sal and Blackadder47 Thank this.

To bad there isn't a loop hole around that . Gordon's a decent company

Too many drivers from same small area

There is nothing bad in my background. I was honest in everything I told them. My last job I worked for a union. Maybe they got scared away because of that (fear of unions). My experience with the union wasn't good.
