The GPS didn't get the driver locked up. The driver got himself locked up. When said driver departed Interstate 79 and rolled along those country roads that have a 10-ton weight limit it tells me someone did not double check his atlas while route planning, call haliburton (sp ? care less) for directions, or care to notice the weight limit signs posted along side the road.
Sure I am thankful for Mr. Madison's service to this country but that dosen't make him "above the law" or exempt from using his common sense while fullfilling the duties of job.

Rollover the Original, Red Hot Mess, SMBdriver and 3 others Thank this. -
WOW, I could never have put that as well as you did.
Unfortunately we have a society that doesn't want to be responsable for their actions any more. -
When you use a gps you need to use common sense. This incident demonstrates the problem with relying too much on technology and leaving your common sense at home. I have no doubt that this driver saw the restricted route signs, yet he elected to ignore them. It will be interesting to see how he handles the fines he will be charged with when it comes to trial. I don't think that Mason Dixon will pay those for the driver. He is an owner operator and will be held responsible for the fines.

Your all full of beans! This poor guy was trying to do his job and he screwed up. Gps or no Gps. No one should go to jail for making a mistake at work. No one was harmed or injured. These local jurisdictions have gone to far in thier quest for revenue enhancement. The judge is the one who ought to be in jail! Let the revolution begin!!!!!!
fordfan17, sgt slaughter, rachi and 8 others Thank this. -

I could agree with the fines but arresting the poor guy like he's a criminal... Please... that's just too much...
Smaggs, volvodriver01, Big Don and 4 others Thank this. -
It was a bit much to arrest they guy. It was a tactic they used to intimidate him.
volvodriver01 Thanks this. -
Nice rant but not relevant to this thread - hence no revolution.
The PA state police "handled" this incident and the last time I checked they are not a "local jurisdiction."
What Mr. Madison should have done after he realized his mistake and after being arrested was to quickly dial Pittsburgh crimnal defense attorney Mr. Chris N. Urbano who would have taken care of this situation expediciously.
In the PA legal system it's all about who know and if you don't know anyone you'd (Mr. Madison) better have cash. And if you don't have cash and don't call an established atorney you get the pokey.
I didn't make the rules but sure as #### have to live by em. And if I mess up in PA you can bet I'm calling Mr. Urbano -
Along with GPS, you do have to use common sense.
Big Don Thanks this.
