Think twice before going to work with this place. I took a load to jackson ms. And when i delivered on time i might add. I was told that once i delived i would get payed. Needless to say i had to sit almost 36 hrs. For another load. Dispatch should have been looking while i was halfway there. A good dispatcher would know this. So he finds one that pu in chicago hts. Ill im in decatur illinois its 1245 and they want me there at 230. That fell thru found another that fell thru too. Third times a charm right? Same thing. I told dispatch i needed to be back on sat. Was told not a problem. So i waited till 430 and he called back saying come home cannot find a load. Came back to gary In. Took my 10 and texted him a message saying ill be in g r on sun. Took t t back to yard. Called the following mon asked for my check to be mailed and was told that i wasnt getting a check. He said i held his truck hostage. DO NOT WORK HERE

My name is Denis and i own Grand Rapids Express. I have to start by saying that this comment simply can't be true. Maybe you've mistaken my company for Grand Rapids Transport or GR Trans or something like that. Reason I'm saying this is because a few things in your comment sounded a little off right away. Like 36 hrs waiting for a load, or me not paying you a check. You see, no driver would be able to start working here without their direct deposit info. We have never cut a check for any driver in 11 years. I don't know who you are but please verify your information before posting comments like this because it hurts me and my business. I would be happy to talk to you and straight this for all of us. And if you prove me wrong i will be the first to post it here. We are located at 525 Burton St. SWLast edited by a moderator: Mar 21, 2017

Mistaken identity?

Likely he just found out about it. I'm sure it still comes up in a search result, so even late he can try and fix any possible damage, if it is in fact untrue.
And who knows, the op might get an email notice and reply. -
Denis is a fair and honest employer and would not take anyone's paycheck unless justified. My husband drove for his company for almost all the 11 years this company has been in business and was always treated very well by Denis. When my husband switched to a different company due to differences with the people who now run the company, they kept our whole last check due to the fact that Denis had helped us out many times when we were in need and we owed him the money. Would I have like to sign an agreement to pay back the money in payments so that we wouldn't have been so strapped for cash? Yes. But, fact of the matter, we were always paid on time for everything and the only reason they took the last check was to get money that was due to them. Please don't talk negatively about a company and instead try to resolve it. And especially don't make lies up. Denis has always been a straight up great guy and through out the years has even become a man I consider a friend. -
You do realize the OP posted this back in 2013 right? They’ve more than likely moved on which in this case is a good thing, considering the company’s CSA rating is worth less than a food stamp. So whatever “damage control” you’re trying to do I got news for you,it ain’t working!!!
Safety Measurement System - Overview (U.S. DOT# 1500841)Lonesome Thanks this. -
Wife worked there. She never ever was late with a load. She never backed into anything or any other wreck like me before I was forced to retire from bad health has over 20 yrs driving an a lot of miles She is a combat veteran. Again like me. Her truck broke down gave her another one to get load done. Got back to yard spent the day moving trailers around
Wayne who is not much of a driver or man who is the general manager took her out of truck to give it to a new driver not yet even on payroll told her to go home would call her when he had a truck for her
Not the first time worked under him did so at another company
He never called her but then as I said he is not much of a man
Guess a female combat Veteran who is an will be more of a driver than he will ever be scares his little bit of manhood he has -
DOUG - you realize that Tammy never worked for Grand Rapids Express. She drove for an Owner Operator. It's unfair that you would speak badly about us that way. To be completely honest, even though she was late numerous times, and had an unreliable vehicle we reached out to Tammy and asked her to be apart of our company. She accepted the position and shockingly didn't show up the next day for her load.
Shortly after we received her previous employment request and gave her a great referral. So again, it's unfair that you would talk badly about us without knowing all the facts. -
Here’s a fact for you. As of today your company’s safety rating is close to being right at the threshold.18.5% vs the 20% national average is not a good thing. Also you’re a little late to the party with a rebuttal!
Lonesome Thanks this.
