It was explained in a message from Admin that it is proper procedure to post here to introduce myself.
I have a strong background in the Trucking industry. My father became a trucker after our ranch in the shadow of the Rocky Mountain 14ers in Hartsel Colorado.
I was a Heavy Wheel Mechanic in the Army, as I progressed through the ranks I became a Light Wheel Mechanic. I drove just about anything the Army had and worked on them.
When I left the Army I briefly (6mos) worked at a TA as a Diesel Tech.
I then went to school and the ministry.
Currently I am a Minister without a flock to tend and the subsequent financial strain that puts on the household. I am returning to that which I also know the men and women of the trucking industry and their big rigs.
I am currently looking to go OTR, having a bit of trouble with the companies accepting my Military Time as experience, although some are exploring that. I gather it is mostly an Insurance issue. To help that out, I have enrolled with SAGE here in town, starting my last week with them tomorrow (28 FEB 2011).
That is the short an skinny.

My name is Tammie. I am researching training compainies to obtain my class A's and go to work. (I have class B's now but don't mean squat) I've worked the last few years in health care as a CNA, but am burnt out~tired of watching people slowly die.
I am getting a headache trying to figure out the best way to go. The company that I really wanted to go with(Roehl), I can't because I've been out of work for 2 mos and can not come up with the $600.00 down that they require. But they seemed to be an honest company. I checked out ffex and they wanted $500 down. I've checked out several companies and had it narrowed down to CREngland & CRST, but I have now heard all grades of bad things about CREngland that it looks like I will have no choice but CRST. Please keep me in your prayers. -
Tammie,
Absolutely,
I prayed and will continue to pray for you to be able to find a way. Here in Colorado, the County Workforce center has programs to help, the school I am attending suggested that to me, although my costs were covered by the Veterans Admin. There may be something similar in your neck of the woods, and I am also aware that some community/junior colleges and Tech Schools also to some training. But if you are like me, the time needed for that is food taken from the family's mouth.

CoJakeslookingat18wheels Thanks this. -
They have programs here, but most require money upfront(that I don't have) or offer student grants/loans and I am already in arears with student loans from college and do not qualify. So basically my only choice is a training company. Thank you very much for the prayer.
