Greetings

Been lurking here a while so thought I better introduce myself.

I live on Vancouver Island in British Columbia. I will be 45 in January and got my class 1 when I was 19.

Have been driving since I got my license at 19. Started out at 19 driving off-road wiggle wagon and old Pacifics and Hayes with 6 and 4 trannies on the road crew at my uncles company. Also operated Terex 82-50 cat when ballasting the road as well as loved getting a chance to get on the hoe when I could.

My dad had his own logging trucks and owned his own freight company in the interior of BC long before I came along and by the time I was born he was operating excavator building logging roads on the west coast of BC.

I grew up in a logging camp till the age of 12 when we moved back into civilization full time and my dad went to work for my uncle and he eventually got me hired on as well.

For the last 15 years I have been driving gravel truck and pup, the last 10 years for the same company. Things got really slow around September of 2013 to the point of where I was only getting 2 or 3 days a week and I was second on the seniority list. I saw an ad online locally with a truck with job for sale so I bought it and have been on my own ever since. I bought a 5 ton and am doing local P & D work with maybe 2 or 3 days a week doing a 500 KM round trip so kind of a mix which is nice.

I bought a 2011 International with the Maxxforce DT engine so I have a feeling I will be in the International garage quite a bit lol.
