Apparently this is the perfect time to be going LTL. I am being laid-off at my current gig and decided to go LTL. I applied to 5 companies and 4 have called me back, in just a few days. I interviewed with UPSF (TForce), Estes, and OD. Saia called but I haven't set an interview, it's the longest commute. I have basically narrowed it down to Estes or OD. Has anyone worked at both? What did you like and dislike?

Never worked at either OD or Estes, but from what I have seen both of them are solid companies with good futures, pay well, and run decent equipment. As far as I know, both are non-union. I don't think you could go wrong with either one.

I definitely agree, they both seem like great companies.

Why did you rule out UPSF? Very curious.
bentstrider83 Thanks this. -
Too much uncertainty with the new company. They made me a good offer. I would be stuck at one pay rate for 3 years and then who knows. It's a longer commute tooWaterman_99 Thanks this.

I don't have personal experience with either, but, my friend has worked for both. He left Estes to go to OD he liked both about equally well, but, OD paid better at the time and was a little closer to home. That being said, he got fired at OD for taking a leak in the yard.

Oh ####, not sure if I should laugh or feel bad for him. Thank you for the response. I may end up just flipping a coin lol.Jaebo74 Thanks this.

Maybe both? He is one of those guys who questions everything somebody tells him to do. They were probably trying to find a reason to fire him. He's a good worker , but, #### he's trifling. Btw, it was about 3am and he was in the back of the lot, nobody could have seen him. I think the spotter saw the wet spot and #####ed. They asked him about it and he didn't lie. So they had to fire him.JoeyJunk and bentstrider83 Thank this.
