I had a head gasket blow on a Cat C7 engine. I had the head rebuilt and reinstalled it now I can't get the valve cover to stop leaking. It seems to have to much oil pressure under the valve cover. Does anyone have a answer for that?

I don't know anything about a C7 but a valve cover doesn't have oil pressure under it per say. Sure pressurized oil gets sprayed around inside it but the cover itself isn't pressurized unless it's not vented. Guess I'd start by replacing the valve cover gasket

Is it leaking on the exhaust side, towards the back of the engine? If it is, the VC gasket wasn't trimmed properly, and that's where the two ends overlap. It's a fairly common mistake.
baha Thanks this. -
If you re-used the valve cover gasket, start by replacing it.

If it is coming from the valve cover you more than likely crimped the gasket when putting the valve cover back on. Remove the cover & check it to make sure it is seated properly.Bean Jr. Thanks this.
