I use to occasionally haul 100000+ with a 450 hp Mercedes and 3.55's only problem was slow going up hill, drop an extra gear and watching tranny and coolant temp gauges in Arizona record August heat.

I have used light trucks in the oil patch and mountains pulling 140,000 lbs , never had a problem . I knew what I had though . It's all in your head . Give me the toughest truck you can build and I will destroy it . Give me a light one in bad condition and I'll make her work and hold together. In a picture perfect world you rig perfect trucks , but we are not in a picture perfect world . Light trucks pull 140,000 lbs here all the time . 18 sd and not completely retarded gear ratios and your fine . It all depends if you want to be a ramrod or have finesse. I don't make enough cash to be a ram rod .
Just my own screwed up view on life ... -
