You can still go OTR with Class-A trucking company. Many will send you through their refresher course, then put you on the road with a trainer initially. Some of these companies, the refresher is free plus they provide transportation to the school. There's a bunch of them; here's a few:

Freymiller
Pride Transport
Wil-Trans
Southern Refrigerated Transport
Super Service
Paschall Truck Lines(runs Eastern half of USA)
Western Express

Check the websites and submit some applications.

 

Try Carolina Cargo and Martin Enterprises of the Carolinas.
These companies will probably hire you. They run hard doing West Coast turns.
These are 2nd chance companies and may give you a start.

One Carolina Cargo driver posts on here sometimes; says the milage pay is low, but with bonus pays, fuel milage bonus, on-time delivery bonus, etc., he "takes home" $800.00 per week. My guess is either company is about the same; not sure though. At least you get on the road running coast-to-coast.
