You can get a 12V heated mug at most truck stops, and a 12V lunchbox oven can be used to get water boiling hot.

Re: Melatonin
I've never had any success with this stuff.
I'll try some of the other suggestions. Broken down waiting for a tow 7 hours away so I had a chance to catch a few hours.Scooter Jones Thanks this. -

Melatonin and l-tyrosine. Maybe some comfortable earphones to cancel out the noise.
Caffeine tablet and magnesium when you start. Goes without saying a good diet always helps with the focus and energy levels as well. -
A hypnotic would settle your mind and put you to sleep. Doctor can prescribe Lorazepam or Zopiclone if stronger med required. Deal with it now before you run off the road.

learn how to meditate to clear your mind.
Also try audio books to distract you off of your mind with those other things.
Did you get your cat an Ipad so you can call him/her up with facetime?tman78 Thanks this. -
What works for me is the Japanese method. A small firm pillow under the nook of your neck, while lying on your back. Ever watched old Japanese movies? I guess the pressure causes the brain to slow down and induces sleep. A rolled up towel should work too.
