How did you flush the system when you switched from green to red?
-
Why did you switch in the first place?
-
Hard to say from the picture. It kinda looks like sludge to me but I can't really tell
SAR Thanks this. -
Its real bad sludge looks like n feels like clay
-
Thats a green and red coolant mix.
-
Long story short came across the red coolant at $5 per gallon when we tried winterizing it first time
-
I have seen something like that when a leak was found, and Barrs' Leak was dumped into the radiator. there are also other leak stop chemicals as well that can do this. it would be problematic too if the heater cores are plugged up.
instead of a garden hose flushing, you may have to go to a garage for a power flush that uses a machine.
some automotive garages can help you with this as well as Jiffy Lube Or Valvoline quick lube, but I cannot say how much they would charge you. your best bet too, would be to buy engine specific coolant from a truck parts dealer, not necessarily a truck dealership.
once the system is flushed out, NOW a search for a leak should be found and repaired.baha Thanks this. -
Used to dawn dish washing soap with water just til it came out clear then added the red coolant
-
never use anything but radiator flush chemicals. I highly doubt you got all the Dawn out.Justrucking2 Thanks this.
