This is for os/ow guys, if that's not you feel free to lurk, but don't post irrelevant stuff. Now down to business. As a lot of you know, I run my own authority. It's great, but I have been relying on the load boards heavily lately. I have always been my own motor carrier and have never leased to anyone. Lately I've been thinking it might not be so bad. I am willing to talk numbers, because that's what it all boils down to. I don't really want to just put 'em out there. But, I will if you guys need me to. Any thoughts or suggestions? I don't want to just call companies and get the B.S. they spit out. If I can't gross more than 300k without living in the truck, I'll pass. I am sure that is doable, but how common? Heck for all I know that might be on the low end for guys running my set up and lanes. Which is a 7 axle, mainly just the southeast. Now I bow to any wisdom you can impart.

Hold tight for 30 days. Oilfields are moving. Bunch of rig moves. Need to wait and see if it's just a parade or actually significant. Don't think of it as 'living in a truck', think of it as following a money trail.

I'm not hurting right now. I just don't know what I don't know. If that makes any sense.

    I understand.

Didn't say anything about hurting. Just following the money trail. You stated you want $300k. When the money is stupid, you can see $400k. The guys that got out of the oilfields are hesitant and watching. The guys who are in it right now are moving in force.

Are they part of the Don's parade, or isthe money about to get stupid?

Came out of Paul's valley today and there were 3 or 4 big winch trucks rolling north.

I've been running from MN to ND the last three weeks. There is way more oilfield equipment moving now then there was last summer at any point.
