These guys aren't bragging, if you think they are you are leaving too much money on the table. $3-$4 a mile for regional freight is a fair market cost, more for short hauls. I hear alot of brokers pushing back for $2 - $2.5 cpm. That was a good rate when a new truck wasn't $150,00 and shop labor wasn't $150 per hour. Those days are gone

 

I have had a few Saturday runs two or three light aluminum coils 159 miles @ $2000.00 I volunteered to do one every Saturday for that.
