I want to hire a driver for a new run I just got. It's ok to pay 'em via 1099 since I'm not going to drug test them or pull an mvr? I need this driver for a 1500 mile run I just got but the kicker is its straight through....no stopping. It's usually a team deal but I underbid it so I'd make more money and a driver could too. I figured I could pay about 20% of the load and he/she will have as many looseleaf logs as they could possibly need. Thoughts, opinions? Thanks
Oh and happy April 1st to everyone!![]()

What kind of rate did you get on the lane? I hope you got at least $2200, but $2500 would be fair.

Do you at least split the cost of fuel 50/50 with the driver.
