I want to hire a driver for a new run I just got. It's ok to pay 'em via 1099 since I'm not going to drug test them or pull an mvr? I need this driver for a 1500 mile run I just got but the kicker is its straight through....no stopping. It's usually a team deal but I underbid it so I'd make more money and a driver could too. I figured I could pay about 20% of the load and he/she will have as many looseleaf logs as they could possibly need. Thoughts, opinions? Thanks

Oh and happy April 1st to everyone!;)

What kind of question is that? Of course not......any necessary supplies are the responsibility of the driver! And no Chicago sorry.

What kind of rate did you get on the lane? I hope you got at least $2200, but $2500 would be fair.

Do you at least split the cost of fuel 50/50 with the driver.
