    @MOGLAR

    You have to remember, those loads on DAT many times are only 2 loads posted by 51 different brokers. So it comes up as 102 loads. Nebraska a hotbed of flatbed freight, LMAO. I would never go there unless it pays enough to deadhead 600 miles at least. Kansas City has never been a great flatbed area either (especially for me) @blairandgretchen is with Landstar and I think he will tell you the same thing.

    Point being, it's not just Mercer!!

    I dead headed straight past KC from Saint Joseph, 240 miles to the house on Thursday.

    I've yet to crack into any good freight out of there.

    It's rare a good load comes out of there. I've made good money out of st joe but it's always going to black hole areas.

    Its a matter of sorting through the load boards (besides DAT) and talking to people. The midwest does have some freight. My problem is with someone tellinng me there is really nothing out here for days on end. This is the other end of learning the trucking business......the freight:downtown:. I have leaned on alot of owner operator friends that have their own authority, sucessful brokers and alot of learning. It is sad to say that a vast majority of the freight I have pulled from Mercer is watered down rebrokered loads. I actually find about where the loads came from by accident. However, Mercer does get their own customers at times.

    I have no doubt that I will get a response from the Mercer secret handshake society about load planning and knowing how the system works. (please lol). Yes....please enlighten me so I too can unlock the mysteries of the elusive load board:evil3:

    This kind of stuff really cracks me up. :headbang::headbang:

    You got it all figured out, why isn't it working for you? You have figured things out quickly in your short Time at mercer.

    Steeleandsonfarms and spyder7723 Thank this.

    Moglar, some people could probably give you some tips on areas ,lanes, load board things, etc. But you don't seem receptive to anything. You plainly said there's no need to. You Should perhaps go where you could use loadboards, but it has been posted on here how to get a loadboards load, but you must have missed it.

    You never heard me say things were not working. Doesn't take long to figure things out. Have some drivers that have been at Mercer many many years and some ex mercer drivers with their own authority advising me and helping out. I know there are drivers that found their niche and buddy hustle loads that never even see the board. No problem......handle the business. I can respect that. My out look is this....when in Rome do like the Romans.:violent1:

    Like I said before....feel free to message me anytime u want and I'll give you my number and would be more than happy to have a discussion.

    Moglar, I think the answer is simple. Get your own Authority and haul all the load board loads you want.

    Not quite. lol. People asked for my opinion and I gave it. Some agree...some do not. Doesnt mean that it requires an change at this juncture to get my own authority. (especially during an election year).

    There is a posative side. Excellent fuel and business discounts. Good infrastructure to help drivers. They dont brow beat you into taking loads you dont want. Excellent and knowlagable safety department that cares. Made alot of friends here....even with some of the brokers.

    PS sorry for the spelling errors:banghead:
