First off, I do not believe we will see every driver having an electronic log. A lot of little guys will probably complain about the costs involved. I may be wrong, from what I understand the fed's want the on board recording devices (electronic logs). I can see the big companies putting cameras in, but not the little guys. I have a camera in my car and I am used to it. Granted mine is facing outward and I can turn it around if I so chose. Usually when I have a prisoner in the vehicle. I have sound inside and outside being recorded. Once you get used to it, it's not that big of deal. For me the camera has helped when someone makes a B.S. complaint. Pull the tape and let everyone have a look. Before I had the camera, you and everyone involved knew it was B.S., but you still had to jump through the hoops.
It's a double edge sword for truckers though. In one way, it will either help you when involved in a wreck if someone else caused it, or it will be used against you if the driver did something. I don't like the idea either way. Whether it's the company or big brother watching I feel it's over the line. It's a #### shame no matter where you go your on camera. I guess this is what is to be expected in the 21st century. Technology is nice in some instances, but is a pain in the a $ $ in other instances, this is one of them.25(2)+2, doubledragon5, panhandlepat and 1 other person Thank this. -
What I see is similar to CARB rulings......
EBORs and Cameras in every truck for the "public's safety".....
All it would take is for the some politician to get his constituents behind him or her...especially after a truck accident.
Then it will be "See....if every truck had EOBRs and Cameras...this would have been prevented..."dieselbear Thanks this. -

Hey dieselbear,
What ya think about the amendment idea? -
It isn't what you want to hear. Way to easy to be abused by some. -
So, what's the solution to moving off of private property when you are forced to?
-
Wish we had more like you out here with more of an understanding or at least that showed it. You seem like a top notch guy and officer of the law. It's nice to hear input from your perspective. Thanks.

The night that they were broke down, they wouldn't tell anyone that. Or we would have headed to the TS and took the 10 and gotten a fresh start in the morning. Instead we all (somewhere around 32 trucks) got, we will call you on channel 15 when we are ready for you. By the time we got loaded, 1am, the TS was full. So no choice but to go on down the road.
